When I went to work the next day, all the women in the office informed me that they were certainly NOT cockroaches, but in fact Palmetto Bugs (the first time I'd heard the term). It seems they'd all convinced themselves that they were two entirely different creatures in an attempt to make the critters in their own home seem less threatening. I had to laugh. Then again, when I'm home alone with one, I do tell myself not to freak out because "it's only a Palmetto bug." Semantics are funny that way.
